Registered Veterinary Technician
Jason Bellamy
Jason Bellamy’s journey to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician is a story of a promise kept. After two previous careers in general contracting and political news talk radio/TV in Ontario, Jason found his true calling through a rescue cat named Max. Despite having been severely mistreated by humans, Max provided Jason with unwavering support during his lowest moments. When it came time to say goodbye, Jason made a final promise to dedicate his life to helping animals, which eventually led him to his current role as an RVT.
Jason specializes in working with "difficult," scared, or aggressive patients, patiently building a bond of trust with animals that have every reason to be wary. He finds his greatest professional fulfillment when a client offers a sincere thank you or when a patient simply seems happy to see him again.
Outside of the clinic, Jason spent seven years running the rescue "Safe Meow" alongside his wife. He is the proud father of two amazing kids and shares his home with four cats: Danko, Freya, Bagheera, and Tiggy (Tigs), a three-legged Egyptian Mau rescued from Dubai. In his spare time, Jason enjoys playing music and remains an eternally hopeful fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
